Volunteer Stewardship Projects

Trail Work and Weed Pulls – Join events listed or schedule a work day for yourself or for your group. All volunteer events require pre-registration by calling emailing volunteer@cottonwoodcanyons.org

National Trails Day – Saturday, June 3rd  

Restoration Work at Silver Lake – Saturday, June 17th (families, kids ages 5+ welcome).  Help clean up trails, revegetate damaged areas, and remove invasive weeds!

Mountain Clean-up with Alta Ski Area, July 8th Ride the lift, hike down and help gather winter trash and keep Albion Basin beautiful!

Town of Alta Restoration Day – Saturday, June 24th

National Public Lands Day – Saturday, September 30th

The following events are free and open to the public. No registration required.

Kids’ Day at Silver Lake Nature Center  Saturday, July 1st 10:00 AM to 2:ooPM– Kids birding station, family nature walks, interactive watershed model, kids activities and more…

Wildflower Festival July 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th 2017 –  at Brighton Resort, Solitude Mountain Resort, Alta Ski Area, Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort.
Free naturalist-guided wildflower walks. Walks and hikes for all levels, kids’ walks with activities built-in, chairlift rides, music, kids art, and more!

Kid’s Day at Alta Ski Area – Saturday, August 12th 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM– Kids birding station, family nature walks, interactive watershed model, kids activities and more…

Ongoing Family and Visitor Nature Programs at Silver Lake
Begins in June and run through August.
