Silver Lake Restoration Day

50 Volunteers Needed! Join Cottonwood Canyons Foundation for a restoration day at Silver Lake.

Help plant wildflowers, rehabilitate the landscape, and clean up the heavily used areas around the boardwalk. Located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, Silver Lake saw over 213,500 visitors last summer! With so many visitors each summer, this beloved landmark needs some yearly TLC to help maintain its vibrant and healthy ecosystem. Come be a part of this fun, yet crucial project!

Pre-registration is required. To volunteer for this event, please fill out our Silver Lake Restoration Day Registration Form. Registration closes Thursday, June 15th at 5 PM.

Kid’s planting and activities will be available. Ages 5 and up welcome.

Additional location details, instructions & parking information will be emailed to registered participants 1 week before the event.

  • 9:00 AM  Breakfast and check-in begins
  • 9:30-9:40 AM  Welcome, Safety Talk, Work begins
  • 9:40-10:40 AM  Revegetation Work begins/Kids activity
  • 1:00 PM  Wrap up work

Required for work: Long pants, boots or other sturdy, close-toed shoes, are required for work. Please bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle, weather appropriate clothing, backpack, and other personal items as needed.
