Tour with a Ranger
Become a volunteer naturalist ranger on the ski slopes at Alta, Snowbird, Brighton or Solitude to educate the public about Cottonwood Canyon’s geology, history, winter ecology, watershed, wildlife, and more!
Weekends and Holidays all season, dates TBA: check back soon!
Tours are free and follow an easy or intermediate ski run.
Tours meet at 1:30 PM, and last approximately 45 minutes.
- Alta 1:30 PM, Top of Sunnyside Lift.
- Snowbird 1:30 PM, Mid-Gad Restaurant, outside near trailmap sign.
- Brighton 1:30 PM, Base of Snake Creek Chair.
- Solitude 1:30 PM, Top of Moonbeam Chair.
Rangers are also on the mountain throughout the day, roving, to answer questions and provide great information.
Want to get involved? Come to our New Volunteer Orientation on Wednesday, October 18th, 2017 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Salt Lake City REI. Registration is REQUIRED.
