Our Mission
Supporting the Environment of the Cottonwood Canyons Through Stewardship and Education
In partnership with the US Forest Service, the Ski with a Ranger program is based at Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude resorts.
Participants join Volunteer Naturalist Rangers on the ski slopes to learn about the Cottonwood Canyons’ geology, history, winter ecology, watershed, wildlife, and more.
These free, guided tours frequent only easy or intermediate ski runs and last approximately 45 minutes.
Adopt-A-Trail
The Adopt-A-Trail program allows corporations or community groups to adopt a trail in the Cottonwood Canyons, directly supporting CCF’s Trail Stewardship Program, which repairs and maintains trails in the Canyons. 100% of the Adopt-A-Trail sponsorship goes to trail work. Adopt-A-Trail sponsorships start at $2,500 for a one-year adoption. The sponsor’s name is included on an official trail sign at the trailhead. Current sponsors include Visit Salt Lake, Black Diamond Equipment, Backcountry.com, Alpha Coffee, Wasatch Mountain Club, among many others. A limited number of trails are still available for 2023; contact CCF for information.
