In Loving Memory of Emily Anne Gilson

1985 – 2025

Emily served as the Mill Creek Crew Foreman on the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. She was dedicated and witty in her tireless efforts to maintain Mill Creek Canyon. We worked alongside Emily and her crew doing all sorts of projects, from the lofty to the mundane, clearing picnic areas to open for visitors in the spring, building new sustainable trails, pulling invasive weeds, planting native seedlings, hauling picnic trash, and maintaining restrooms for visitors. She was steadfast and diligent in preserving public access to the canyon she cared for and loved.
We honor her gift of service and will remember her every time we hear the rippling creek at Church Fork.
