Trail Steward Program

Anyone can be a Trail Steward! A Trail Steward is someone who recreates with the environment, the trail, and other users in mind. A Trail Steward follows trail etiquette guidelines in order to minimize their impact on the land and be respectful to other recreators.
Trail Steward volunteers undergo training to learn more about how to be responsible recreators and then get out on trail to share that information. They are helpful, friendly presences on trail who are there to provide information and tips, as well as to answer questions.

CCF Trail Stewards wear green shirts or neon safety vests. They might be tabling at a trailhead, hiking on a trail, or standing at a summit. If you see one of the Trail Stewards, say “Hi!”. Feel free to ask questions; they are knowledgeable about trails and the Wasatch.
