2020 Trails. Online. Series
Trails. Online. Ecology on the Trail
This five-part series teaches science concepts while utilizing the environment and trails in the Cottonwood Canyons. The Trails. Online. program is designed to be a guide to learn different aspects of science in a place-based setting. Each part of the series includes curricula with naturalist facts covering geology, history, wildlife, trees and plants, watershed awareness, and information about human impact. Each part of the series also includes a map to a trail in either Big or Little Cottonwood Canyons. These maps suggest stopping points, drawing back to the material in the curriculum. Each part of the series also includes hands-on activity sections and bonus information, linking web-based educational resources such as the Leave No Trace Principles.
