The Cottonwood Canyons Foundation Invasive Species Program and Trail Stewardship Program are generously funded by the National Forest Foundation, which works on behalf of the American public to inspire personal and meaningful connections to our National Forests. By directly engaging Americans and leveraging private and public funding, the NFF leads forest conservation efforts and promotes responsible recreation. Each year the NFF restores fish and wildlife habitat, facilitates common ground, plants trees in areas affected by fires, insects and disease and improves recreational opportunities. Dog Lake Reroute
Triple Crown Project with the
US Forest Service
CCF completed three-quarters of a mile of new trail for hikers and bikers as part of the Triple Crown Project, a three-year partnership targeting highly-used trails in need of heavy maintenance and reroutes.
Red Pine Reroute

With the US Forest Service, CCF rerouted a large section of trail, including cutting new tread, building drains and erosion control devices, constructing switchbacks and check steps out of locally sourced stone, naturalizing the old trail for restoration.
Millcreek Pipeline Extension

CCF spent multiple weeks cutting and clearing a new trail corridor within Millcreek Canyon. This corridor will be used to construct a new trail that will eventually tie into the existing Pipeline Trail in Millcreek, allowing for a more complete hiking and biking experience of the popular Crest Trail.
