Cottonwood Canyons FoundationTrails. Online. Ecology on the Trail

Designed for teachers and homeschool families, this five-part series teaches science concepts while utilizing the environment and trails in the Cottonwood Canyons.  Each part of the series includes curricula with naturalist facts covering geology, history, wildlife, trees and plants, watershed awareness, and information about human impact.

For each part of the series, there is a dedicated Teacher Presentation (consisting of about 20 PDF slides) that can be used in the classroom or emailed to students for online use. In addition, for each part of the series there is a dedicated Student Guide in the form of a fillable PDF that can be sent to students working in class or online.  This assessment tool can be used to ensure that the students have watched the presentation. Finally, there are several downloadable science activities embedded in the curriculum material of each part of the series.
