Tri-Canyons Trail Ambassador/Steward
Job Title: Winter Trail Steward
Reports to: Stewardship Education Director
Purpose: The purpose of the Trail Steward Program is to get knowledgeable, friendly people out on trails and at trailheads. Trail Stewards will foster positive, educational interactions with the public, helping them become well-informed recreators.
Key Responsibilities: Table at Cardiff Trailhead in Big Cottonwood Canyon. Interact with the public and share information on Leave No Trace, the watershed, and other important items. Option to spend some time on trail interacting with visitors.
Length of Appointment: January - March 2026, weather depending.
Time Commitment: Review of information prior to volunteering: ~2hrs. Tabling will be from approximately 10:30-12:30 on Saturdays, with half an hour of set up and take down on either end. You are welcome to sign up for more than one slot on the sign-up sheet.
By registering to volunteer with CCF, you are assuming the responsibility and risk of this activity. CCF does not carry health or liability insurance for volunteers. By registering to volunteer, you are agreeing that your own insurance will be used in case of accident or injury.

Volunteers have the responsibility to:
- Represent CCF and uphold its NON-POLITICAL stance in a professional and appropriate manner. - Bring questions, concerns, and problems directly to a member of CCF staff, so that they can be properly addressed. - Recognize that CCF has the right to dismiss a volunteer for inappropriate behavior, after careful and justifiable review.

Background Checks
Some volunteer positions with CCF require background checks, specifically positions where volunteers come in contact with vulnerable populations, such as children. If the position you are volunteering for requires a background check, you will be contacted to provide your personal information.
