Julie Jung (one of our Ski with a Ranger volunteers) will share the scientific journey of discovering a new species of nematode in our neighboring Great Salt Lake!
She will introduce the GSL and its ecological importance, then talk about our search for worms in the lake’s waters, the molecular biology of the worm, the fact that they found these worms in the lake’s “microbialite reefs”, and wrap it up by explaining how the microbes in the lake might be helping these worms survive the extreme salinity of these waters. FASCINATING!!

This is a FREE activity, but you must register as seats are limited.

Register in the link in bio above.
