Adopt-A-Trail
The Work
The Adopt-A-Trail Program is a sponsorship program, embracing a long tradition of stewardship in the Cottonwood Canyons. The AAT was created both to help the Salt Lake Ranger District with basic trail maintenance within the Wasatch National Forest and to give motivated groups and companies the opportunity to support stewardship of their public lands. The Adopt-A-Trail Program utilizes a direct donation to fund professional maintenance or trail construction performed by the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation Trail Crew. The sponsor’s name is displayed on official trail signage at the trail head.
Trails such as Twin Lakes Trail and Sunset Peak Tail are available. Check out our current list of Adopt-A-Trail Sponsors.
The Impact
Based on the fundamentals of stewardship, the Adopt-A-Trail program allows corporations, family groups, and foundations to donate to assist in maintaining and improving the trails throughout the tri-canyons via the following:
- Assisting the Salt Lake Ranger District in the maintenance of the local trail network
- Uniting those interested in responsible land management practices through the maintenance of trails, removal of invasive plant species, and public education
- Promoting land stewardship and responsible recreation
- Encouraging use and enjoyment of local public lands
Sponsor
Adopt-A-Trail sponsorships start at $2,500 for a one-year adoption. Through individual, corporate or foundation sponsorships, the Adopt-A-Trail program provides opportunities for direct and meaningful impact of stewardship in the Cottonwood Canyons.
