Alta Ski Area was one of the first ski areas to open in the United States and the second in the Western Ski Region. Alta is world-renowned for its steep and deep powder skiing—averaging 547” of snow each winter. Alta Ski Area is for skiers and restricts the use of equipment other than skis for anyone who wants to ride the lifts and ski the mountain or play around the base areas. Alta sports 2,538 feet of vertical, 2.614 skiable acres and 119 runs.

Co-hosted by the Alta Environmental Center, Alta Kids Day is located at Alta, Utah, near the end of Little Cottonwood Canyon. This free event introduces children and their families to a variety of nature topics through hands-on activities and experiences.
The Cottonwood Canyons Foundation and partners are excited to invite you to join us for the annual Wasatch Wildflower Festival. On July 18, the Festival will be held at Alta Ski Area (Town Park off of the Wildcat Base). The Festival is offered free of charge, but registration is required. Please click here to register: Wasatch Wildflower Festival 2021 Registration. Please complete the registration and bring the Confirmation Email with you to the event (print copy or display on your device/phone). The Festival is held over four days: July 10 at Brighton Ski Resort, July 11 at Solitude Mountain Resort, July 17 at Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort, and July 18 at Alta Ski Area. Guided walks and activities will be offered at each resort.
