Located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, Silver Lake provides a scenic boardwalk and visitors center.  Staffed by USFS and Cottonwood Canyon Foundation naturalists, Silver Lake is a great destination for families and also serves as a starting point for several hikes in the area.
